Purpose and Scope: To support the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to Encounter the Living Christ, it is preferred that the applicant be a practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the church.Under the supervision of the Principal and/or school Director, the Facilities Supervisor supports the school and assumes responsibility for the safety, maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the school buildings, classrooms, grounds, furnishings, tools, and equipment. The facilities manager: Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards Inspects buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations. Coordinates the work of the cleaning crew and works as a contributing member of the team. Performs skilled and semi skilled building maintenance and repairs including but not limited to carpentry, landscaping, plumbing and minor electrical work. Makes recommendations and obtains quotes on specialized projects. Expectations: St. Vincent de Paul School (SVdP) is looking for an experienced Facilities Supervisor to oversee all building-related activities who will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency will set the candidate apart from among the candidate pool. The goal is to ensure that SVdP Catholic School is problem-free and safe so that staff, students and visitors can work and learn under the best conditions. Essential Job Functions Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs Review and recommend arrival and dismissal traffic control plan and parking usage. Review, improve and implement procedures in waste disposal, building security etc. Handle insurance plans, inspections and service contracts Maintain an updated list of vendors, as needed, for contracted services such as landscape care, HVAC maintenance, pest control, electrical, janitorial, and assure that work done by vendors is performed to specifications and satisfactory standards. Prepares maintenance budget in collaboration with the administrative team, monitors expenses, makes and tracks purchases, maintains updated lists of inventories for equipment, tools, paint supplies, and the physical needs assessment document. Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them. Utilizes daily, weekly and monthly building checklists and maintains all maintenance and repair records. Obtains bids, quotes and estimates for repairs, equipment replacement and major facilities projects Performs basic repairs to plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, furniture, doors, floors, fencing, gates, walkways, ceilings, dry wall and windows as needed. Keeps equipment and tools in good operating condition, including cleaning and lubricating parts as needed Assists with setup arrangements for school events. Oversees all gardening/landscaping fix ups Demonstrates the Ability to follow and use various technical manuals, catalogs, blueprints, architectural drawings and diagrams. Demonstrates the ability to operate and use a wide range of common hand and power tools. Responds to emergencies as needed Requirements Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and leadership skills Good analytical/critical thinking BS/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant fields with some level of experience. Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) is preferred. Working knowledge of building codes and safe work practices. Ability to work in a positive and cooperative manner. Valid AZ drivers license
