We are an established cage-free daycare and boarding facility in Lincoln Park seeking a dedicated, hardworking, customer service-oriented employee. We are a smaller cageless dog daycare/boarding facility and are currently looking to fill a part time position working as a playroom attendant with the potential to move to fulltime. Previous dog experience preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Applicants interested in this position must be flexible and available to work weekdays, weekends, and Holidays hours. We are looking to have a new hire ready to begin training within two weeks. Requirements: • Customer service experience required • Must have a high school degree or equivalent • Love dogs and care about their welfare. • Be ready for a lot of cleaning - this can be a gross job; you must be prepared to deal with poop, urine, vomit, etc. • Able to lift 70 lbs. - (i.e., a full mop bucket) • Be comfortable around large groups of dogs - some 120lbs. and over. • Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time • Be ready to be wet • Be ready for lots of cleaning • Be able to learn/use powered equipment • Must be flexible, reliable, and on time • Ability to multi-task • Be a team player • Ability to communicate clearly as well as follow written and spoken directions • A willingness to attain skills, which will be used utilized on the job • Must be flexible, reliable, and on time We are happy to offer retirement benefits as well! Some general duties will include the following: Bathing dogs according to schedules; cleaning, disinfecting and de-hairing floors, indoor and outdoor yards, kennels; mopping, sweeping; scooping poop; monitoring dogs for signs of illness; transferring dogs between: play areas; bathing areas, reporting changes in behavior, appetite, signs of illness such unusual bowel movements, vomiting, etc.; and minor maintenance work. This is a quick-moving environment, with the occasionally gross job that can and will get you dirty.
