Helper Job Description 1. R.A.C.E. Enterprises Route Sales Driver Helpers are required to deliver packaged ice products throughout the set distribution area in the eastern and central areas of North Carolina. 2. On most routes the job involves manually unloading packaged ice in 7-pound bags from the delivery truck at each stop on the route into a freezer box outside stores. This procedure is repeated multiple times on most stops during the peak selling season (June, July, August and September). 3. Route Sales Drivers and Helpers are required to learn assigned areas and will be responsible for keeping the customers ice merchandisers (commonly called “ice boxes”) with a level of packaged ice appropriate to the season of the year. Prompt and consistent deliveries are required. 4. Due to the seasonal aspects of this business everyone will be required to work long hours and some weekends during the peak selling season. 5. During the off-season there will still be opportunities to work if you choose to do so. 6. Route Sales Drivers and their Helpers will be responsible for collecting money for the ice that is sold and will be required to complete an accurate daily sales summary that is done on handheld device at each stop. 7. Helpers are not driving the trucks so there is not a requirement to have a valid driver’s license. You must have a valid social security number and be able to be paid via direct deposit. Skills 1. Able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor 2. Must be physically fit and able to work long hours during the hot summer months 3. Must have own transportation to and from job site located off Lake Wheeler Rd. Raleigh, NC.
