Description
Bassist (47) upright and electric looking to form acoustic band. I would love to form a trio with a violin /mandolin/banjo/dobro and add drums later to pump up/expand live shows. People that like to experiment with jazz, don’t need to be Coltrane, think Gypsy jazz/Willie Nelson.
In the vain of David Grisman/Sam Bush/Bela Fleck/Jazz Mandolin Project/Taarka/etc. More rock oriented- Wood Brothers, Ray LaMontagne, Warren Haynes, etc. Jazz influence- Wayne Shorter, Headhunters, MMW. Charlie Hunter.
Totally random list, but hey, life is random.
Start with standards and obscure covers, and take it from there.
I’m a “former” pro electric bassist that toured nationally (and Canada ;) ) Work a “regular” job right now. I want to mainly focus on playing acoustic, but you never know, we might take it electric. I have connections to take it somewhere if we can get something off the ground, if not hopefully we can have fun and play some cool gigs (yes I primarily want to play out, not just a hobby/living room situation)
Jazz players/horn players reach out also if interested.
Theoretically people 35-55 so we’re roughly in the same place life experience and expectation wise. As well as musical influences. Not a “deal breaker” though.
Thanks!
