Job Description: Trailer Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and servicing trailers, forklifts and any additional equipment in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. The quality of our repairs, and services is our number one goal so that we exceed all government requirements and company policies. Qualifications: • Must have 5 years experience as a trailer mechanic • Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions • Valid CDL Class A (preferred, but not a must) Responsibilities/Duties: • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections on boom trailers, flatbed trailers, cement tankers, forklifts, and other miscellaneous equipment in our fleet. • Perform repairs on trailer suspensions including heavy duty brakes, drums, cams, chambers, air valves, etc. • Perform electronic troubleshooting and electronic component repairs. • Maintain allocated time frame on all repairs and modifications • Diagnose and make recommendations on repairs as required • Diagnose and repair or replace mechanical, electrical, PTO’s and blowers according to established service criteria. • Understand troubleshooting procedures and failure analysis of all components. • Able to safely operate Class A equipment in and out of the shop. • Able to perform the physical requirements needed to work inside, underneath and around all components that need repair. • Knowledge of hydraulic cylinders and small engine repair • Be able to complete records, warranty documentation, and insure records of proper maintenance to all shop equipment. Requirements: • Must have own personal tools. • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Must have at least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections. • Must have at least 5 years of experience maintaining Class A commercial trailer. • Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 1st shift, with occasional Saturday’s as needed. • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills. Compensation: • $20-$25+ hourly, depending on skill set. • Full time position, overtime is available
