11 month male German Shepherd for Adoption

11 month old male, neutered, fully vaccinated, housebroken. Been with us since 9 weeks. Comes with his crate and full bag of dogfood. Vet references REQUIRED (not negotiable and I do call and check them). Raised with 4 senior chihuahuas who have never adjusted to him and hate him with a passion(and I'm starting to see signs the feeling is becoming mutual) to the point it is negatively impacting their health and I’m concerned it will start to impact his. Fenced yard is required for his safety. Things to note: 1. He tends to be very submissive and shows a lot of hesitation around other dogs, especially larger dogs. Have not seen any dog aggression at this point but introductions should definitely be controlled and monitored. I would probably NOT recommend him to a home with small dogs due to his size and playfulness, as well as his negative history here with small breed (chihuahua demons specifically). And No, the littles won’t be the ones leaving. WE love him, but he’s been here 9 months, they’ve been here 10 plus years. 2. He is still a puppy. Puppies are full of energy. He still has that mouthy tendency that GSD puppies are known for (they don’t call them landsharks for nothing). He WILL grow out of it, and responds well to positive redirection/correction. He LOVES LOVES LOVES fetch and will come with his favorite balls. 3. How he would be with children is unknown, especially small ones. He has done okay with our nephew who is 13, but he’s not been around him a lot and he’s never been around little kids at all. 4. He tends to be very timid around people and situations he doesn’t know, but he does warm up if given the time to approach on his own (treats are definitely a plus in this effort). He’s a watchful dog. 5. He does well on a leash. We use a harness for long walks as I cannot stand pinch collars. He’s not a huge puller. If you think he would be a good fit, please message.
