Description

This community class will take a quick look into the basic techniques and suggestions to set up a successful container garden. Selection/placement/maintenance, soil choices, and suggested ornamentals/edible cultivars will be discussed. Additional information will help you plan and implement a 365 day garden. Educational resources and handouts will also be shared. Presenters: Shirley Betournay has been a Lane County Master Gardener since 2012 and serves on numerous specialist committees, including Adaptive Gardening, Compost, and Plant Diagnostics. She maintains a full container garden, and enjoys fresh produce 365 days a year. Robyn Baer is a Master Gardener trainee for 2022. She is specializing in adaptive gardening and plant diagnostics. As a military veteran who travelled frequently, she is well acquainted with small space gardening and garden design with containers The Oregon State University Extension Master Gardenerâ„¢ program educates Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. We are in 27 counties across the state, and train thousands of Master Gardener volunteers. OSU Extension Master Gardeners are volunteer educators, neighbors, and on-the-ground researchers who serve their community with solid training in science-based, sustainable gardening and a love of lifelong learning.
