The purpose of this weeklong bootcamp is to reinforce the academic, social-emotional, and self-help skills that incoming Kindergarteners need to be ready for the schoolyear. Each two-hour session simulates a condensed version of a typical Kindergarten schoolday in a structured classroom setting with arrival/dismissal routines, circle time, centers, read alouds, and seatwork. Attendance is mandatory for the entire two hours for all five days of the camp. On the Saturday following the camp, there will be a brief graduation ceremony for families to attend before our Safety Town event. Graduates of the bootcamp will receive a diploma and a Kindergarten readiness kit. Students are encouraged to stay for Safety Town to learn fire, bus, and pedestrian safety. This camp is for students entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2022. Parents do not have to stay in the room with students, but must stay on Library grounds (upstairs, in the Library park, etc.) for the entire duration of the camp. After signing up for the camp, you will receive an email with additional information.
