This is a 1-hour presentation that qualifies for 1.0 PDHs and dinner is included with your registration. PDH certificates will be emailed from [email protected] to all attendees. Program Overview The design and construction of reinforced concrete floor systems have evolved over the decades to offer designers an array of options that maximize material efficiency for a variety of functional building configurations and applications. The presentation investigates 7 major site-cast reinforced concrete floor systems and highlights which ones are well-suited for different building types and uses. The presenter will discuss the unique aspects across the various systems as well as the benefits common to them all. Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to: Identify the 7 major types of reinforced concrete floor systemsDetermine the influencing factors that drives a system’s selection.Compare the appropriate floor systems for different live loads and span lengths to select the best options for functional and economic considerations.Source the technical information necessary to make informed design choices on an array of structural flooring systems.About the Presenter Brett R. Lord from Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute’s (CRSI) Brett is CRSI’s Southeast Region Manager and a 24-year veteran of the Ready-Mix Concrete and Concrete Construction Industries. He began his career in Atlanta, GA in 1998 at the Williams Brothers Concrete Laboratory (now Argos) followed by various technical management positions and technical sales positions within the industry and has been with CRSI since June 2016. He resides near Charlotte, NC with his wife and three young children and covers the 7 Southeastern States for CRSI (including Florida). He is an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Army Infantry-25th Infantry Division, Alumni of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences/Soil and Water Chemistry. He is an NRMCA Level 2 and Level 3 Concrete Technologist. Brett’s hobbies include die cast car and toy collecting, bicycling, and boating with his family and friends. Join FSEA
