Our next meeting will feature Ira Kligerman who is a local avid acoustic guitar and harmonica player. He also teaches basic and intermediate strumming and fingerstyle methods. His teaching focuses on helping his students “play like” various folk, rock, and Americana artists. Ira's presentation will feature Bruce Springsteen's rendition of "O Mary Don't you Weep" and James Taylor's "Close Your Eyes". "O Mary Don't You Weep" includes the use of hammer ons and the Carter bass line while "Close Your Eyes" will focus on root notes and minor hammer ons. Including JT signature chords and transitional notes. Focus will also fall on the guitar as a complimentary instrument to vocals. Both songs will introduce intermediate strumming techniques.
