The Pro Se Assistance Program is a program at the USPTO's Office of Innovation Development (OID) which offers customer service to applicants/inventors seeking assistance in filing patent applications without legal representation.
To assist applicants/inventors in making informed decisions, the Pro Se Assistance Program can assist in helping applicants navigate the USPTO Website (www.uspto.gov), provide an overview of the overall patent process, filling out various application forms, and assistance responding to various USPTO correspondences. The assistance is provided by experienced USPTO Patent Examiners with expertise in issues related to Pro Se applicants. It should however be noted that USPTO employees cannot give legal advice.
Types of appointments available include Telephone and Video Conference (WebEx) 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (EST).
