The tour begins and ends at Pleasant Retreat Academy, site of the 1850's Masonic Lodge that Laffite helped organize. Oliphant and Yarbrough's recently published book, "Jean Laffite Revealed: Unraveling One of America's Longest Running Mysteries" has created nationwide interest in the newly discovered portions of Laffite's later life.
