We're excited to share this partnership and opportunity with the staff of Missouri Botanical Garden's Shaw Nature Reserve in Gray Summit MO. Our gathering will begin at the historical Adlyne Freund Center. The agenda includes introductions of the St Louis Slow Food chapter and Shaw Nature Reserve property. Guests will enjoy a stunning farm-fresh appetizer along with beverages. There will be an opportunity for a little wild foraging with Missouri Wild Edibles, Ryan Maher & Flourish Farm's Crystal Stevens followed by a summertime Burger Bar picnic. The picnic fare will include an array of fresh, seasonal sides, salads, and condiments. Dessert will be provided by Serendipity Ice Cream. If you would like to enjoy a libation other than our specialty non-alcohol beverages, please BYOB. After dinner, Join us as day fades into night. We will enjoy a guided hike of about 1.5 miles through the prairie to the wetland over varied terrain. We will watch for bats, listen for owls, and learn about Missouri habitats. We will use our senses to explore. All ages welcome. Jogging stroller or baby carrier encouraged for 3 years old and younger. Flashlights welcome.
