Tampa Police Investigate Shooting On Columbus Drive

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police responded to the report of a shooting at 1:09 p.m. along Columbus Drive early Tuesday afternoon. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital before officers arrived. He is currently listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim had just left the Columbus Court Apartments when his vehicle, a silver Infiniti was struck by gunfire. Upon being hit, the victim veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a silver GMC. The occupants of the GMC were not injured. The driver of the Infiniti exited the vehicle and fled from the scene on foot. It is early in the investigation and detectives are working to develop leads in the case.
