Your Arlington Last Updated: 29 December 2020 Written by Bob Sprague Eric Helmuth, a Precinct 12 Town Meeting member, is making his first run for the Select Board. Two others have taken out nomination papers to vie for two seats in the April town election. They are board Chair John V. Hurd and Jennifer Susse, former School Committee member. In a statement to YourArlington on Dec. 28, Helmuth wrote: "I am energized by the conversations I'm already having with voters about what they see as the most important issues for the town, and what they think the solutions are. "One of the best things about Arlington is how so many residents volunteer and participate in their government. They do it because they love their town and want to make it a good place to live for everyone. "In my years working in town government and as a community volunteer, I've been inspired by how people seek common ground to solve problems and improve the town, without regard to personal politics or how long they've lived here. That's my vision, too." Helmuth plans to say more about his plans and priorities in the coming weeks, but for now the public can learn more about his background and contact him about their priorities by visiting ericforselectboard.com. He looks forward to speaking with voters in the new year. YourArlington.com has provided news and opinion about Arlington, Mass., since 2006.
