Hello. I am a stride piano player. 66. Looking for others to play music with from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. I play over 100 tunes in a solo style by composers such as Gershwin, Ellington, Waller, Porter, Arlen, McHugh, Bechet and many others. I am also interested in New Orleans standards. I am wanting to play duets with a lead melody instrument. Hoping for clarinet but would love to play with anyone who knows and loves this music as I do. Playing for fun would be first but I’m also interested in gigging locally if things work out in that direction. Are you a fan of Benny Goodman? Pete Fountain? Sidney Bechet? Lester Young? Ben Webster? Harry Edison? Clark Terry? Stephane Grappelli? If so, and you play this style, then I hope we can talk music sometime. Or better yet…play music sometime.
