Harwood Unified Union School District is seeking a Director of Maintenance for Fayston Elementary School beginning immediately. Fayston School is a 24,400 sq. ft. facility, serving approximately 100 students in grades PK - 6, along with 26 staff members. The campus sits on 4.9 acres, including playgrounds. This is a hands-on, dynamic, full year, full time position. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing, overseeing, and supervising the daily operations of the buildings and grounds at Fayston Elementary School; planning, preparing, and monitoring the department budget; hiring, training, developing, supervising and scheduling all buildings and grounds staff at the school. The Maintenance Supervisor would also supervise, manage and work collaboratively with one employee. Required Qualifications: • High school education plus 8 years of relevant technical training/experience or, • A combination of education and experience of comparable knowledge and skills • 6 years of custodial experience in an educational, medical, or comparable setting • 3 years of supervision experience • Communication skills, written and oral, and interpersonal skills • Basic computer and technical skills • Cell phone required and must be able to respond at any time • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Applicants must also meet the following: • Hold a valid Vermont driver’s license • A VT Class 2 Water Operators License or ability to acquire this license within 2 years For more information or to inquire about this position, please contact Ray Daigle at 583-8174.
