Description

Our circumstances have changed and it breaks our heart, but we need to find a new home for our sweet 9 month old beautiful and precious boy, Winston. He has been raised with our four young children (the youngest only 2 years old), as well as our Shih Tzu. He is gentle with all of them, standard for the breed. He also does great with the dogs at the pet sitters he stays with when we go out of town. We paid $2300 for him and he’s AKC eligible, but have never sent in the paperwork. He is up to date on his shots. There is a rehoming fee. We are not in a hurry and we want to make sure we find him an amazing fit, with someone who is experienced with the breed (or other giant breeds), as well as the grooming and care needs. He is still intact, as Newfoundlands are supposed to be 2 years old before getting neutered, if that is what you choose to do. He knows basic commands (though is still a puppy and gets distracted) and is pretty much just a big lazy sweetheart, who is content with laying by your feet and bringing you the occasional toy for you to play fetch with him. He is already about 110 pounds and may get up to 150 lbs. Big boy! He hasn’t been in a crate in a few months, as we just let him sleep on the floor in our room at night and he just sleeps loose in the house while we are gone. We work from home, so he’s definitely used to us being home a lot. He’s been swimming in our pool a couple of times and really liked it, but luckily doesn’t go in on his own. He’s a great dog and anyone who has owned a newfie before will agree that it’s hard to ever love any other breed as much. Natural protectors of their people, but love everyone who comes in our home. The highest empathy score of all dog breeds. Please email, call, or text for more information and rehoming fee. Thank you.
