The Pink Pearls Teen Group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omega Epsilon Omega Chapter, Novi, Michigan will host a “Walk/Run” event at the Novi High School Track on July 30, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 noon, to raise funds for insulin and medical supplies for children with diabetes. There is no cost to register individually or as a team for this event. Our teen girls, ages 13-18, have selected this project to give back to the community, especially children, to offset some of the costs of medications. According to the American Diabetes Association, 1.9 million Americans have Type 1 diabetes, including 244,000 children and adolescents. Our teens, working, with the Ascension St. John Foundation, are excited to kick off this program for the community. Due to the rising cost of insulin and other medications, this has become an affordability issue for some parents and children. We are asking that you walk or run the track and to make a donation of $5.00/per lap for the children. Your donation is tax deductible and checks should be made payable to the Ascension St. John Foundation (Tax ID – 202961579). If you would like to support, but unable to participate at the Walk/Run, please send checks payable to the Ascension St. John Foundation to Omega Epsilon Omega, P.
