Description
Greetings all. I am an experienced vocalist, classic rocker at the core, but I appreciate many genres besides Classic Rock. I also play some harmonica, and although I am not at an elite level with it, I have been working at it and getting pretty good – so I’ve been told. I have a pretty wide range and prefer good soulful, energetic singing vs. screeching and yelling (I love AC/DC for example, but I prefer to listen rather than sing that kind of style). I’m more into The Stones, The Who, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, CCR, Jethro Tull, Tom Petty, ZZ Top, – and the bazillions of other groups/songs/singers that have put out great material. I am also into writing if anyone is interested in putting together some originals.
I am either looking for an established band that needs a good front man, or I may be interested in starting another project with like-minded individuals. Not too into cliché’ tunes these days, but I see the occasional need for them at times. I definitely see the need for balance in selections covered for the sake of audience engagement and appreciation. People want to dance and have fun, right? That being said, I am interested in gigging as well, but I’m also in this for the fun and therapeutic benefits of great music-making – as well as the camaraderie that inevitably evolves when like-minded individuals link-up and groove with their talents, energy, and chemistry.
I have my own equipment, PA included, and I live close to Fort Knox Studios if a place is needed to jam. I will travel if needed for the right group. I like to keep driving time to maybe 45 minutes max – if I need to drive somewhere for rehearsals. It should also be said that I am still pretty fit at age 61 – and 420 friendly.
Let me know if you’re interested. I’ll be around… and thanks for reading! My name is Gary
