Purpose of Position To consistently maintain the maximum cleanliness, comfort and appeal of all guest rooms in accordance with the standards as set forth by Hotel Sorrento. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities to include the following: • Clean rooms and bathrooms every day in accordance with Hotel Sorrento standards. • Adhere to all health, safety and sanitation standards. • Remakes beds with the same sheets daily unless specified by stay over guests or depending on the length of stay in the hotel. • Removes all dirty linen, terry, glassware and trash from guest rooms. • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. • Washes windows, door panels, and sills. • Replenishes all guest room supplies and hotel amenities as set forth by Hotel Sorrento standards. • Clean supply cart at the end of each shift, so that it is ready for morning use. • Remove all debris, room service trays, etc. from corridors when present. • Properly records Lost and Found items from guest rooms and brings to the housekeeping office daily. • Report all maintenance problems and concerns to your supervisor/manager or Chief Engineer. • Arrive at work at your assigned time, ready and in the proper uniform (clean, ironed, and fresh smelling). • Punch time clock only when you are ready to begin work. • Complete accurately, and in a timely manner, any assigned paperwork. • Have working knowledge of cleaning products and materials in accordance with OSHA regulations and the hotel safety guidelines. • Can interact verbally and effectively with all hotel guests and employees in a polite and positive manner. • Any other tasks as assigned by Director of Housekeeping or Supervisor. Required Position Skills • Prior hospitality experience desired. • Ability to speak/read basic English • Planning/Organizing • Service Orientation • Teamwork Other Skills/Abilities • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop personal relationships in a professional manner • Desire and ability to work within a diverse staff Physical Requirements of this Position Carefully check all that are necessary to perform the essential responsibilities of the position effectively.
