Description

The Aviation Museum of N.H. is pleased to invite you to a Northeast Airlines 50-year reunion / celebration, to be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at 700 Elm St., Manchester, N.H. It’s hard to believe this summer marks 50 years since Northeast merged with Delta. But the legacy of the airline of the Yellowbirds lives on today through the carrier’s many employees, family members, passengers, admirers, friends — and a growing number of fans. Who should attend this event? Everyone! Former Northeast employees and their families and descendants; also business associates, current employees of Delta Airlines (Northeast’s corporate successor) and all friends, fans and followers of this legendary carrier. Whether you have a direct connection to the airline of the Yellowbirds, or just want to join the flock for a day, you’re welcome to attend the event, which promises to bring together many legendary figures still with us, and also to celebrate and honor the memory of those NEA veterans who are no longer on the flight line. Whatever your connection is to Northeast and its story, you’re welcome. What’s on the program? Guests will have ample time for mingling to catch up with old friends and make new acquaintances. A gourmet buffet dinner will be served, including appetizers, salad, a choice of entrees, side dishes, and dessert. (Cash bar available throughout.) You’ll also enjoy live music from ‘The Yellowbirds,’ a display of more than 250 NEA artifacts and memorabilia; an exhibition of Northeast Airlines uniforms; the premiere of ‘Tribute to a Great Airline,’ the inauguration of the new ‘Yellowbird Future Aviators Association,’ plus speeches, tributes, toasts, and a few surprises! Most importantly, you’ll help ensure that the legendary achievements of the Yellowbirds live on to inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals. We're pleased to report that the ‘Return of the Yellowbirds’ will not just be about the past, but will also look to the future. All proceeds of this event will benefit the non-profit Aviation Museum of N.H., where our mission to is encourage young people to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace. With the backing of our Presenting Sponsor, Delta Airlines, we’ll use this event to launch the “Yellowbird Future Aviators Association,” a group dedicated to helping young people find their place in the skies. All members will receive an iconic Yellowbird pin and be encouraged to wear it proudly. Through this, the legendary achievements of Northeast Airlines will live on to inspire future generations of aviators.
