Join us at Stormbrew Farm in beautiful Abingdon, VA for an intimate evening of farm-to-table hors d'oeuvres, local wine and micro-brewed beer among the lush flower fields. A benefit event for Appalachian Sustainable Development, 30 guests will enjoy an assortment of heavy hors d'oeuvres prepared by the talented Chef Josh Young with ingredients from right on the farm. Think tomatoes, peppers, squash, tomatillos, husk cherries and abundant herbs! Tables will be set with an eclectic assortment of fine vintage and antique furniture, linens, and dishware with floral centerpieces grown and arranged by the Stormbrew Crew. Guests that arrive by 6pm can enjoy wine or beer before the farm tour begins. During the tour we will meander among the fields of flowers and vegetables, discussing Stormbrew's no-till growing system and how the ASD’s Farm Mentor/Intern program has benefited the farm this season. As guests and farm owners Daisy and Jenny stroll through the farm, Daisy and Jenny will collect various ingredients, fresh from the field, to be used by Chef Josh. After the tour, we will return to the barn and patio and continue to embrace the late summer vegetables with a tableside demonstration and further hors d'oeuvres. Ticket purchase includes two drinks. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. Guests are encouraged to fully embrace life on a working farm by finding a serene spot inside or outside to watch the sun set on the farm during an August summer evening.
