COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland State Police said a group of men hijacked a delivery truck on Christmas Eve. The thieves abducted the drivers and eventually stole all their packages, an incident report added. The victims told police the encounter started around 5 a.m. in College Park, soon after they exited I-95 south for the inner loop of I-495. They continued, saying a relatively new black Dodge Durango and a black four-door Mercedes sedan forced them into the right shoulder at gunpoint. The five men coerced the drivers out of the vehicle and into the back of the yellow box truck, the victims noted. The write-up indicated that at least two of the carjackers had guns, and all five wore dark clothes with full face coverings. The victims said the thieves drove them to an unknown location, believed to be in Maryland. The suspects unloaded at least 100 packages from the truck before releasing the victims and returning the keys to the vehicle, the report added. After driving to Washington, D.C., the victims headed to the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack to report the carjacking, theft and abduction. Troopers seek anybody who may have witnessed the hijacking. They ask anybody with information to call (301) 345-3101. Tipsters may remain anonymous. Have a story idea?
