BALTIMORE, MD — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. Here are instructions for how to recycle Christmas trees in Baltimore City. There are two options for Christmas tree recycling in Baltimore: curbside pickup or mulching. In both cases, residents should remove ornaments, tinsel or other decorations from the conifers. Set out trees regular trash collection days from Saturday, Jan. 2, to Saturday, Feb. 6.Take Christmas trees for mulch in from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday at the Northwest Citizens' Convenience Center, 2840 Sisson Street. Bring bags or containers for personal mulching purposes.What Is Recyclable Wrapping paper, cards and plastic and cardboard packaging from gifts may be recycled in Baltimore. These items are not recyclable, officials said: Bows, ribbons, tissue paper, shiny/glittery bags and paper and foil-based wrapping. Until Jan. 19, people must take their recyclables to community recycling centers. Starting Jan. 19, the city will resume curbside recycling collection.
