Production Associates work in the processing plant located in Anchorage to convert raw fish bi-product into a
processed, high quality product intended for the manufacturing of pet food.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
The job of the production associate largely defines many roles in the production plant of the company.
• Identify fish by species
• Tend to and operate machines
• Inspect fish bi-product to meet company quality control standards
• Stack 60 pound frozen blocks onto pallets for shipping
• Cleaning factory equipment
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Capable of working long and variable work shifts for extended periods of time
• Work 8 to 12 hours with periodic breaks depending on work demands, production requirements
and fish volumes. Over-Time Pay
• Ability to work within a strenuous and sometimes hazardous environment.
• Able to work with hands, do heavy lifting and stand for long periods of time.
• Tolerate a quick environment that can be very wet, cold and noisy.
OTHER AS ASSIGNED
• May also be assigned jobs weighing and labeling as needed.
• Loading and unloading supplies at the plant
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening
• Must be capable of standing on feet for long hours
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be capable of lifting 60 pounds or more
• Have good communication skills
• Must be able to climb or descend one or more set of stairs
