With City Lights & Company as its fiduciary, the Bridgeport Film Fest is making “philanthropy through film” a priority in Bridgeport, CT. This nonprofit initiative is dedicated to the discovery, championing and development of independent filmmakers and audiences. Through various programming the festival seeks to showcase, guide and inspire independent film and theatre artists from the Bridgeport community and beyond. Local audiences will be enriched by the films, workshops, panels discussions and other forms of artistic expression curated by the festival team and will ensure the promotion of Downtown Bridgeport to continue to thrive as a cultural artistic center. In a ceremony that concludes the weekend, prizes will be awarded to winning films chosen by a panel of acclaimed jurors including Allison Miller (A Million Little Things, 13 Reasons Why), Aizzah Fatima (Americanish, High Maintenance), and Liz Ortiz (Filmmaker, I Ain’t Playin Films), among others. 2022 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS *Subject to change* FRIDAY, JULY 22 4:00pm-5:30pm : VIP + Filmmaker Red Carpet Featuring DJ Edgewood spinning LIVE! 5:00pm-6:00pm: General Admission Red Carpet 6:00pm-6:10pm: BFF Welcome Address 6:10pm-7:50pm: Block 1 Hometown Glory: CT Stories with Filmmaker Q&A A film block celebrating the diversity of storytellers from Bridgeport and across the Nutmeg State! 8:15pm-9:30pm: Block 2 To Be Queer+ Prideful Stories with Filmmaker Q&A Kicking off Greater Bridgeport Pride with a film block highlighting LGBTQIA+ stories and filmmakers! 9:30pm-10pm: A Prideful Panel LGBTQIA Filmmakers in discussion with moderator David A.
