During this morning of professional development, spiritual directors will see how the Enneagram becomes a tool for spiritual formation when looked at as a lens to each personality type’s defense mechanisms. Seeing these behaviors as a red flags reveals moments when our true self is being covered up by predictable false self behaviors of each Enneagram style. We’ll explore these behaviors as opportunities for deeper spiritual formation as well as considering spiritual practices which benefit each Enneagram number’s spiritual growth.
This program concludes with a light lunch and a time for open discussion.
Kathy has a degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. As her husband served as clergy in the United Methodist Church, Kathy often led small groups and served in women’s ministries. Certified as a Spiritual Director through SDI in 2012, she’s currently serving as Assistant to the Director, as well as on the faculty, of the FIND School for Spiritual Direction and Formation, a program of The Episcopal Diocese of Texas. After he retired from parish ministry, Kathy and her husband, Jim, founded their spiritual formation ministry, Zoe-Life Explorations through which they offer individuals, groups and churches paths for cultivating a deeper, fuller life in Christ. Exposure to the Enneagram through SDI, and the teaching of Sr. Lois Dideon, had a significant impact on Kathy’s faith walk. She went on to eventually be certified to facilitate work with the Enneagram. Kathy is also active with a local food pantry and Brazos County Master Gardeners. Now with three grown children, a daughter-u=in-law and a granddaughter, their nest would be empty if it weren’t for their rescue dog, Birdie. After 36 years of parsonage life, they are enjoying their own home in Bryan, TX.
