Stagville welcomes back Dontavius Williams (of The Chronicles of Adam) for an outdoor cooking demonstration, interpreting the cooking traditions of enslaved people. Join us on Saturday, September 17th to explore the history of enslaved people's cooking traditions in North Carolina. Dontavius Williams is a public historian, interpreter, and storyteller who specializes in interpreting the history of enslaved people. He has been in the field of public history and storytelling for over 10 years and now travels the country interpreting slavery at various historic sites, schools, and churches and community events. This demonstration is outdoors at Horton Grove. Please dress for the weather.
