Join us for a dynamic 2-days of curated stand-out youth films, workshops, master classes, keynote sessions, and red carpet photos with celebrity guests. Annually URGENT, Inc. presents the Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival. The Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival is a media empowerment platform designed to showcase and elevate the voices of today's youth through cinema. This year, M4SC will be presented in-person July 21-22, 2022 at the Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater, North Miami Beach, FL. Who Attends The festival's audience is rich in diversity and backgrounds from across Miami. youth filmmakers, families, youth-serving organizations, summer camps, general audiences, and film lovers have attended M4SC. The ticketed event is open to the public. Summer camps with youth ages 11+ are welcome. What to Expect The festival amplifies storytellers between the ages of 14-24 and is a platform designed to elevate youth creatives advancing social change using the digital media arts. During the festival, youth creatives present their work, network with peers and professionals, and learn about filmmaking from industry experts, teaching artists, and peers through workshops, master classes, and panel discussions. Filmmakers also compete for top honors and are highlighted during the awards ceremony. Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival Created in 2016, URGENT, Inc.'s Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival (M4SC) is an international youth film festival that celebrates and fosters the creativity of filmmakers 24 years old and younger from here in Miami and from around the world. M4SC encourages the talent of young filmmakers and elevates diverse youth voices who are using film to shine a light on issues that they care about. M4SC is an extension of URGENT’s year-round Film Arts Culture Entrepreneurship (FACE) internship program for high school teens and new Media Arts and Creative Technologies Apprenticeship program. Leading up to the festival interns and apprentices work with URGENT staff to plan the festival's events and select official screenings. During the event, interns and apprentices manage activities on-site, perform event coverage and participate in panel discussions and workshops. The ticketed event is open to the public.
