I am set to be euthanized June 27th. Why am I E-listed? STRESS!... It's sad, I am struggling so bad I am licking the walls and jumping in my kennel... It is inhumane to keep me here in this condition! And now the shelter wants to put me to sleep! Will you help save my life? I’m a 3-year-old, neutered, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier (64)! I am super friendly and love being with people! I really like having my ears and head petted and will lean in to get more. Even though I get wiggly and excited when approached to go out, I will “sit” to have my leash placed. When I get a chance to go to the play yard, I like splashing in the kiddie pool and playing with toys that are thrown for me. I come when called, “sit” for treats, and take them nicely. I haven’t quite mastered walking on a leash without pulling somewhat and can get a little jumpy when excited for attention but take correction well. I was found wandering in a neighborhood and the finder had me for about a week. There was a squabble with finder's dog and I and he said I bit him BUT I have shown no signs of aggression in the shelter at all. The finder never reported the bite either he just took me to the shelter. It is recommended that I have an adopter that understands a stressed dog like me, that I meet the entire family before going home, that I work on my leash skills, and that children in the home be 12+. I will need a predictable routine, a lot of time to decompress and relax, and time for exercise and play. I’m a good dog that deserves to live! Can you save my life?
