DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — Ex-DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan is seeking a full recount of votes after losing the November election to Bill White by 75 votes, according to Daily Herald.
The petition comes one day after DuPage County announced that a discovery recount in 286 precincts showed no changes.
In November, Grogan came out of the election with 233,046 votes, whereas White had 233,121 votes.
Recounts Don't Change Election Outcomes In DuPage County
According to Daily Herald, Grogan's petition not only calls for a total recount, but also wants the current results to be deemed invalid and Grogan to be declared the victor. Alternatively, Grogan seeks the results to be invalidated and a new election to be held in April.
Grogan's petition asserts, in part, that 436 paper ballots cast at First Christian Church in Downers Grove were not initialed by election judges and therefore were not valid.
The case is set to go to court March 23.
Patch reached out to Grogan and White for comment Tuesday afternoon, but did not receive an immediate response.
