Part Time Executive assistant / Project Manager

Jobs

Gardner MA

Description

Busy entrepreneur / executive is looking for a part time assistant / project manager to help keep multiple projects on track. As an executive involved in building multiple businesses, I’m not just looking for someone to manage my calendar or screen calls for me. I need a right hand person who can share all the moving pieces involved in executing the master plan. Personally, I know my own strengths and weaknesses very well, and I am looking for someone who can compliment me in the areas that I fall short. As you will see, I am pretty good at innovating, building, solving complex problems, and predicting customer and market demands. I am not so good at prioritizing actions and following up with people in a timely way to make sure these plans are executed ahead of schedule and below budget. The ideal candidate is someone who is good at prioritizing tasks, but is also a creative thinker who wants to join an organization early and get exposure to a wide range of business ventures. Currently, my projects can be defined as follows: * Consulting for corporate customers (this pays most of the bills at the moment, but may shut this work off in the near future or else transition it into subcontracting) * Consulting for small business owners and entrepreneurs - I help entrepreneurs raise money, negotiate contracts, set up business systems, and also find and acquire other small businesses. * I own and run a wood products manufacturing company in Worcester County. It may be useful for this person to come into the office once or twice a week for a time. * I am building a private equity company that will fund business acquisitions for BIPOC and women entrepreneurs. We are partially funded and have multiple high profile partners. * working on a web3 project to be funded and launched in 2022 * working plans to creating an event center * various art / non-profit projects that are planned As we grow the various organizations that I am involved with, there will be an opportunity for this position to evolve into a full time chief of staff, to take an executive role with one of our businesses, or even to potentially get help from us to acquire or start a business of your own. Position is intended for someone who is able to think on their feet and wear multiple hats, as job duties can vary from week to week. General tasks may include anything from: * writing or editing marketing copy or other materials * Research (new markets, competitors, products, vendors, business requirements) * Tracking steps in ongoing projects and removing bottlenecks as needed * Scheduling meetings, filing forms, setting up software, business accounts * Anything else as needed. Requirements: * good communication skills * creative problem solving * an ability to quickly learn new things * a comfort level with some level of ambiguity due to the changing nature of entrepreneurial endeavors * an understanding of how to manage multiple projects at a time * ability to remain calm and not flake out under pressure from deadlines. Preference for people who show initiative, are interested in learning new skills, and appreciate social impact businesses and the arts. Position will be primarily remote, but someone who is able to commute to northern Worcester county at least once a week is also ideal. Our manufacturing company is located near Gardener, and while we have different ventures in NY and RI, there is need in the short term for someone periodically to be on site to help with filing paperwork at the office until we implement new paperless systems. Expected hours would be 10 hours per week at $20 / hour - with a flexible schedule. As the businesses grow, this can expand. Job title is open. Details on the businesses that I run will be provided to applicants who submit a cover letter and resume (a link to a complete LinkedIn profile will be acceptable as a resume). As attention to detail and good communication skills are important, applications without both will not be considered. Even if you do not feel that you have a lot of relevant past experience, please include a resume or LinkedIn profile. In your cover letter, I do not need to see any cut and paste text rehashing your experience and peppered with buzzwords … please just write a paragraph or two at most about what interests you about this opportunity.
