are people unapproachable or am i just extremely shy?

I'm ridiculously extroverted and I'm actually great at talking to people. I'm not ugly or unapproachable or anything... but sometimes I don't know HOW to start a conversation with a stranger. More than anything in the world, I want to meet people and share stories and interact because that's just who I am, but every time I imagine walking up to a person and befriending them, I just feel so stupid and I imagine I'll be bothering them. My wildest dream is to go in a bar or nightclub and just leave with a girls number. Even THAT seems like a huge task! The world is so impersonal anymore, and I only ever know how to reach out to people over social media. Can't even imagine trying to approach a woman in any way to spark an interesting conversation that would lead to any type relationship. Does anyone else struggle with this? Does anyone have tips?
