TROOST39 THRIFT STORE Our Mission: Troost39 is committed to supporting the community of midtown Kansas City and the Troost Corridor. As a retail store, we offer low-priced, high-quality, essential household and personal items. As a non-profit Ministry, we operate on donations and we offer assistance to those most in need, by partnering with social service agencies throughout the city. We welcome as friends and neighbors all who come to our door. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Troost39 Facility Manager ensures operational efficiency and safety of the entire facility by maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, work areas, storage areas, and outside perimeter of the Store. This position reports directly to the Store Manager with “dotted line” reporting to the Donations Manager. OPENING & CLOSING Ensure timely opening & closing of the facility SAFETY, CLEANLINESS AND MAINTENANCE Ensure safety and daily cleanliness of work areas and retail space: - Keeping work areas, restroom, store fixtures and aisles clean and clutter-free - Sweeping & vacuuming - Trash removal & recyling - Ensure organization and adequate supply of store cleaning supplies and tools - Maintain store equipment in good repair - Fire safety: ensuring fire safety compliance and procedures - Coordinate security protocol with all department managers DONATIONS - Assist with intake of all donations - Manage storage and retrieval of donated items - Manage outgoing donations - Manage assortment, supply and storage of hardware items to be sold FURNITURE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT - Log all furniture in and out of inventory - Coordinating furniture pricing with Store Manager - Schedule pick-ups and deliveries of furniture and other donations with customers and delivery driver - Maintain accurate, real-time furniture inventory - Maintain the furniture show room, including cleaning and placement of furniture and other merchandise CUSTOMER RELATIONS - Interact with diverse base of customers in a manner consistent with the store mission and vision. - Respond to requests for assistance from front desk - Assist customers to their car with large or heavy items REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: The successful candidate must be able to: - Connect effectively with customers and co-workers - Work in partnership with all department managers - Take initiative to improve operations - Multi-task, prioritize, and organize - Lift at least 40 pounds easily
