Description

LET’S NOT FAIL ALITA!! SHE DESERVES TO LIVE! She is not a bad dog! She is on the Euthanasia list (6/26) because she is mentally breaking down from long periods of confinement and needs to be out of this noisy, chaotic place where she's had limited opportunities for exercise and play. ALITA (ID #A4466038) is a 3-year-old, spayed, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier/Mix (48 lbs.). Previous fosters described her as a “sweet dog” that liked people and did fairly well with a 3-year but nipped at her heel when startled during play. Volunteers have also found Alita to be a “sweet dog” and one that is “gentle”. She knows “sit” and “shake” and has been working on “stay”. She takes treats nicely, really likes being petted all over, and can be playful. Alita can be startled by noise in her surroundings and can become anxious and unsure, so a home with older children is recommended. She pulls on-leash, so she will need to work on her leash-walking skills. A previous shelter dog-to-dog evaluation found Alita to have a gentle and dainty playstyle but said she was particular about the dogs she liked. Given multiple, SLOW introductions, Alita may be able to live with another dog in a home. PLEASE REMEMBER!! This dog has been living in a high-stress environment and will need time to de-stress and relax!! She will benefit from a predictable routine as well as ample exercise and time to play. She is located in Phoenix, AZ Please call for assistance with adopting or fostering. do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
