I would like to form or join a cover band, but I'm interested in doing new and unique versions of the songs. Maybe not as over-the-top as Dred Zeppelin, but that wouldn't be rejected either. Key changes, meter and style changes, mash-ups and other reasonable variations are what I have in mind. Does anyone really want to hear a true-to-form version of "My Sharona" or "Play that Funky Music"? Maybe, but if they want to hear that then there's definitely an audience to hear variations on the theme. There are also lots of songs that I would want to do accurate versions, such as Motown classics for example. I have samples if this interests you, hope to hear from the adventurous!
