I have never written a bad review of a store of any kind. however, our old DG in Sigourney was small, dirty, and a mess. as far as employees putting things and cart and making a sale sign for it. I suppose they were too lazy to stock the shelves. Everyday, you go in and things were a mess. They just put 'dog jerky' with the food area for people to eat. The floors were filthy, looked as though they swept and mopped once or twice a year. Hallelujah! now we have a larger DG in Sigourney. Amazing how what was supposed to have been a better store ended up to be a dump as well. Everything in the 'NEW;' DG is a mess. Stacked carts of boxes blocking the aisles, boxes of items just tossed inside of the refrigerated area on top of other items. Yeah, you have to tear open the box to get your item or dig under the box for it. However, the 'SCAM;' of the new DG is pretty effed up imo. They place or leave old prices on the products, but when they ring you up, you are being charged, 15 to 65 cents more than what the price says on the shelves. Most people won't catch onto that because they do not expect to get ripped off. I always take pics of the prices posted under the items at our so called new DG store. I correct them at the register and they usually make the correction. Not any longer. I went in the DG to get a loaf of 'Sara Lee Honey Wheat' bread. the price was listed at 2.95. When I got to the register, they rang it up at 3.45. I asked if they are charging food taxes on items now and she said 'no', but, she also couldn't make a price correction on the register either. I had been told that is up to Sara Lee delivery people to change the DG price tag under the bread. I told her she can keep it. IMO, don't shop at the Sigourney IA DG any longer. They are ripping the people off, and all the guys they get there have quit because the women there are dumping all the hard labor on them. That's not right. As a female, if you take a job anywhere in the USofA, then you need to do the same equal amount of work along with all the others working with you. In their stock room in the very back, it's loaded with carts and boxes of goods that sit there for weeks at a time. However, the employees (mostly female) stand outdoors smoking cigs and chatting or texting on their cellphones. I have tried calling DG, but no one answers the phone. It's always an operator that tells you to call back later. I've emailed DG but they won't accept emails or attachments. If you do not believe me, just stop in at the Sigourney IA DG and see the mess for yourself. We need a Dollar Tree in Sigourney. This new DG is an absolute disaster imo. Just keep your receipts and take pics of all the prices on things you buy at the DG in Sigourney. Otherwise, they will rob you between 15 to 65 cents. It all starts up to a 'felony' theft at DG knowing you are listing one price and then charging another price at the register in hopes that people will not notice. I noticed!
