Course Ambassodor Job Description Assures that guests have an enjoyable round of golf which exceeds their expectations by providing excellent service and hospitality. Enforces course rules and regulations; maintains acceptable pace-of-play; oversees golf course grounds and assists players with any concerns. Supervision Position reports directly to the Outside Guest Services Lead for scheduling and assistance purposes. Position reports to general manager for hiring/firing and disciplinary actions.. General Duties/Functions Clock in with your time card. Check schedule for your assigned fairway to repair divots. Copy information from main starter sheet. Following a reversed route, monitor groups to help keep course flowing smoothly. Try to greet groups within first four holes. Stop cart when golfers are hitting or putting. Keep track of cart numbers, times and golfers. Every hour, report 9 (front) and 18 hole (course) “times” to pro shop and starter. Talk to the golfers; ask if they need water, etc. Check bathrooms (#5 & #14) and tidy up if needed (obtain current door code from pro shop). Pick up trash, pencils and any other foreign materials on the course. SLOW GROUPS: ask them to pick up pace, let other groups through or skip a hole(s). There should be no one kneeing or running on greens. Carts are not toys. They should not be used as bumper cars, etc. Keep non-golfers off the fairways, sand traps or loitering at the restrooms. Foursomes always have priority. Carts are to stay 10 yards from greens. No carts on the aprons except for handicapped. Two players per cart. All players must have their own golf bag. Do your best to keep the guests happy. Thank them for playing at PCC! Flat tires: air tank to 80 lbs. to fill flat tire enough to get cart to the cart barn. Compressor to fill air tank is at the near end of the parking lot? Cart rain cover, air compressor, jack and spare tire are located in the range shed. Clock out at the end of your shift. MORNING AMBASSADOR (SPECIFIC DUTIES) – 7:00 A.M. TO 1:15 P.M. Pick up “starter sheet” from the pro shop or Starter. If you need to generate your own report: click on Reports, Report Generator, Starter Sheet (2-column), Preview Report, Print. Pick up the camera from Ron’s office cabinet. Pick up keys for gates and radio from orange key box. Switch out carts: Be sure to load all items noted above (always carry). Dump old water and refill under tent and on Course Ambassador Cart. Check gas in the cart. Fill if necessary. Check starter’s water. Set out putting green flags, if needed. Pick up anything needed from the maintenance base yard. At the end of your shift, report times as well as other items to your relief between the times of 1:00P-1:15P. AFTERNOON AMBASSADOR (SPECIFIC DUTTIES) – 1:00 P.M. TO CLOSING Around 4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (coordinate with starter) begin closing down the course in normal order (1-18) no more than ½ hour before course closing time. Fix ball marks and pull flags (after golfers have finished hole). Secure cable gates at holes 4, 7, 8 (pipe gate and maintenance gate), 12, 15 (2) and 16. Report to pro shop when the front nine is secured. Inform/remind guests of cart return time and help escort off the course at the appropriate time. Pull putting green flags. Empty water cooler on your cart. At the end of the shift: Return keys and radio to the orange key box. Leave flags in the ambassador cart. Return camera to Ron’s office cabinet. Assist starter with cleaning and returning club rentals to the range shed, putting away carts and locking up the cart barn cables. Stay until the starter leaves. Working Conditions: Position requires working outdoors. May be exposed to inclement weather, misdirected golf balls; vibration and moving mechanical parts. Equipment Used: Golf cart, two-way radio, extra golf balls, rakes for bunkers, sand, hammer, pencils, score cards, tow rope, first aid kit. Other Materials Used: Position will be working with and exposed to gasoline, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Mental Demands: Requires working under general supervision and the ability to work under a constant changing environment. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, turning, kneeling and stooping. Must be able to operate a golf cart and other equipment in a safe manner. Normal vision and hearing ranges required. Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language. Qualification Requirements: Skills/Knowledge/Attributes: Possess general knowledge of golf course rules, regulations and play. Excellent oral communication and customer service skills. Enthusiastic and outgoing personality. Organized and able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing. Education/Training: High school education. Have a valid drivers' license. Experience: Previous Marshal or Ambassador experience is preferred.
