We're guitar, bass, vocals looking for a serious drummer. We have our own studio and producer on board, we're looking for someone who can commit to 1-2 jams a week plus recordings, videos, shows etc. If you're interested message me and I will send you some rough demos. We are a solid and committed outfit inspired by AfroFunk & AfroJazz music looking to add a female singer of African/African-Canadian heritage (direct or extended).
Performing covers and originals in appreciation of AfroFunk, AfroJazz, and AfroBeat grooves originating from West Africa, we honour this lively music primarily rooted in 70’s Nigeria & Benin. For vocals there may be some overlap with R&B stylings.
Not required, but experience with minor percussion, and/or ability to sing in English plus French and/or Yoruba would be an asset. Our philosophy is to enjoy our time together and to not stress ourselves about gigs. Don't worry, we always get lots of shows.
Join a great group of bright fun people. We need someone on bass who can swing. Even better if you can sing. Someone who can commit to regular rehearsals and forthcoming shows.
We are in our early 60's and play songs from early rock n roll and country or blues and more modern songs that feel similar. We rehearse Thursday nights downtown in a studio, and there is a small fee to participate each week. For those who may applied before, a server meltdown has lost us many previous emails, so please get back in touch.I've been playing drums for over 15 years, and I'm a graduate of Centennial College's Music Industry Arts & Performance program. If you're looking for a drummer to play on your recording(s), I can be your guy! I’ve linked my website’s Credits page below where you can hear my playing. Thanks!
