Join City of LA Department of Cultural Affairs and David Tatlock and David Rogers of The Soul Juice Band in a Discussion on creating Re-Imagined music scores. As Professional and Pre-Professional musicians and composers, how do we look at the world through a different lens? How do we create something new, interesting, and unique to who we are? As urban musicians and composers living and working in Los Angeles, how do we create work that is unique to only you? In addition to the topic above, this meeting will review the guidelines and requirements of the Compose LA: Scores of Re-Imagination commission competition. Applicants will be chosen by a review panel with performing art and music experience. Those who participate in this meeting on June 30th from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Madrid Theatre will receive preference when being scored. Additionally, preference will be given to musicians living or working in the 3rd Council District area, though, all musicians are welcome to apply.
