We are a fully worker owned compost operation. We collect compost material from local residents using bikes and then process that by hand at our site. The new member must be comfortable with bikes, shovels and rotten stuff :) Must also be comfortable around queer and trans people. We are looking for someone with weekday availability who can work 10-20 hrs a week and who is interested in helping collectively run the business. In addition to the manual labor there are all kinds of little projects and tasks that can be picked up. Pay is $16/hr (we are all paid the same) plus profit share that is distributed at the end of the year according to percentage of hours each member worked. Last year that worked out to being the equivalent of receiving an hourly wage of $17. We are ideally looking for someone who can make a longer term commitment to the project so that we can continue to be a stable and thriving workplace!
