Floatmageddon 2022After a minor hiatus we are BACK for another year of river floating. Come join Austin's best-planned river float for one of the best parts of any Texas summer. As always: we'll do a party bus from the south Austin Walmart to Texas State Tubes in San Marcos. Once you pay, you get a reserved seat on the bus and a rental float. NOTE: You must reserve on Eventbrite AND pay (separately) to confirm your seat. All are welcome, send Jon Flowers a message (contact details at the bottom) if you have any questions. You can/should sign up on Eventbrite to hold a seat; however, your seat will not be reserved/confirmed until you pay for it through one of the options above. If I notice you reserved on Eventbrite but forgot to pay, I will try to send remindersWhat do you recommend bringing? Drinks, ice, and coolerSunscreenSwimsuitsWater shoes (HIGHLY recommended)Sunglasses, hat, other sun protectionWaterAny rules or recommendations? NO GLASS and NO STYROFOAM on the river; TST will not let you float if you have itIf you have not floated before, or just don't want to worry about it, we highly recommend leaving anything valuable (wallets, phones, etc) on the bus, in your car, or at homeYou CAN leave things on the bus; the driver will be with it the whole time, and the same bus will drop us off and pick us upWhen floating the river, make sure not to walk onto any private property (labeled with purple signs or paint)Other than that, the San Marcos river is pretty lenientIs there a place to buy supplies before the float? The pickup spot is at a Walmart in South Austin; they have a wide variety of drinks, food, ice, and other supplies.NOTE: There are no stops on the way to or back from the float, so make sure to stock up in Walmart before we leave!Who are we floating with?
