This contemplative activity offers time and space to reflect on who we are and how we are connected by our shared humanity—and by that, we are transformed.
We’ll start with a brief sharing circle, then weave together. Materials will be provided, including a variety of yarns and hoop looms. Participants may bring their own fiber or trinkets that can be woven into the public artwork.
Join us for one or both of these dates:
10 a.m. to Noon Saturday, June 18
10 a.m. to Noon Saturday, June 25
10 a.m. to Noon Saturday, July 2
Note: You do not have to stay for the full two hours. You may weave as much as you want and leave the loom for others to add to, creating a collage of weavings in various states of being and becoming.
The community weaving project will serve as a backdrop for Tell & Twine: An Interactive Storytelling Experience, which will feature 3-minute stories being told–on repeat–at Benson First Friday on July 1.
This activity is FREE, supported by BFF's MaMO Artist in Residence program.
MaMO Gallery (pronounced "May-MOH") is a 42' semi-trailer-turned-gallery that travels regionally, parking and partnering with various communities, organizations, and events.
