Description
READ LAST PARAGRAPH FOR MY PITCH FIRST: all, I am a committed frontman of a local metal band out of Murfreesboro. We have been a band for 4 years and are growing, gigging regularly, all working full time, and are set to release our 2nd album next week. Where I am experienced in heavy vocals, I am working to become a better singer/vocalist for my own desires as an artist. That being said I have a pretty rare and unnaturally gifted ear, nose, and throat for imitation. INTROSPECTIVE DISCLAIMER: My problem with clean vocals is not necessarily pitch, rather being able to sing in my natural voice in pitch because its a vulnerable position my not disguising my voice. The only time I feel like I can sing naturally is if I am playing a guitar at the same time; that has been a good way for me to learn to control my instinct to imitate. Granted, I think we all imitate our favorite musicians to an extent when we play their songs. In any case, I would consider myself to have excellent range in my vocals, and again, an unnaturally gifted ear for imitation. Besides music, I need to bite the bullet and get into voice acting...(if you know a guy, let me know). I am willing to bet my life on the fact that only Andy Serkis is my superior in Gollum/Smeagol having created it himself. I regularly used to piss my uncle off when I was a kid at my grandmothers house imitating her; I would answer the phone and have a five minute conversation with him before letting him off the hook. I can imitate Robert Plant, (Zeppelin is my favorite band), John Lennon, Sir Ringo, Sir Paul (little shaky), Ray Charles, Blind Willie Johnson, All of The Highwaymen, Dolly Parton (to an extent), Hank Williams Sr., Jim Carrey's Grinch, just to name a random selection. This is all not to mention the voices that stand out to me of all the people in my life whom I imitate and share said imitations with friends and family. My heavy vocal influences are as follows in no particular order: Jon Mess-Dance Gavin Dance, Serj Tankian-System of a Down, Jeremy McKinnon-A Day to Remember, Oli Sykes-Bring Me The Horizon, Winston McCall-Parkway Drive, Spencer Chamberlain-Underoath, Will Ramos-Lorna Shore, Randy Blythe-Lamb of God, Caleb Shomo-Beartooth, etc. Creatively I aspire for a Mel Blanc, Roger Miller type of bright energy into whatever the project might be. MY PITCH: I am looking for one or many projects to devote my gifts on lead or background vocals as well as writing lyrics. I don't mind being in another heavy project, but I would prefer to devote my time to something more challenging for myself that will help me grow. I don't really care what type of music it is; I just want to see what comes of this post. You tell me to sing in a style, chances are I can do it! This is not to toot my own horn; Besides exercise, this is the one thing I have done my entire life simply for the amusement of it for myself! Try me! If it sounds too good to be true, its not. With repetition I could imitate anyone on the radio should the desire be there. Pitch me your ideas if you are looking for a lead singer or even a background singer on projects. I am working on having a better home recording setup but I am working with dated equipment. I know this was a lot but if you've made it this far, I work hard and I am not willing to waste my time on uncommitted projects. Respectfully, L
