Job description GENERAL EXPERIENCE Three years of experience performing gardening and grounds maintenance work. As a Landscaper/Gardener, you’ll help grow and maintain our beautiful private estate. This involves performing a variety of ground maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, watering, weeding, planting, pruning, and container maintenance. You will also: Duties and Responsibilities: -Cuts and maintains lawns. -Plants and maintains plants, flowers, trees and shrubs. -Decides when and which standard methods to use in planting, transplanting, seeding, re-sodding, mulching, dusting, spraying, watering, cultivating, cutting, arranging, pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass. -Inspects for plant diseases molds brown spots rusts blight mildew plant insects leaf-miner scales borers slugs and unusual or poor plant growth. -Selects and uses fungicides insecticides and herbicides for the control of diseases insects and weeds. -Determines when plants need additional watering and how long they should be watered. -Working knowledge of both irrigation, landscape lighting, and their respective controllers. -Observes plants and thins or transplants when they have grown too close together or too large for their locations. -Decides when shrubs have reached the proper stage of growth for trimming and when trees need pruning to remove obviously diseased limbs or excess branches. -Operates a variety of hand and power operated garden tools and equipment such as mowers, edger’s, hedge trimmers, pruning shears, and sprayers. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. -Pick up trash, debris, cleans outdoor tables, furniture, and washes down sidewalks daily. -Maintains fountain, cleans, and fills it when needed. -Maintains small pond, cleans, skims, and fills it when needed. -Removes cob-webs from all structures. -Maintain cleanliness and quality of work area. -Maintain accurate records of activities performed. -Work through any weather condition, except lightning. -Practices safe work habits, including the use of personal protective equipment. -Perform other duties as assigned….. What it takes to succeed: -At least 18 years old -Valid driver’s license -Excellent English communication skills -Operational knowledge of both power and hand tools. -Working knowledge of both irrigation, landscape lighting, and their respective controllers.Knowledge -Ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 75 lbs. -Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions -Scheduling flexibility-be able to work 9:00AM to 4:00 PM ; 3 days a week -Ability to work well independently -Strong multi-tasking abilities -Able to pass a background check -Impeccable references Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: $20.00 per hour
