Houston based rock band Internal Fire is seeking a new bassist. We are an original music band with a style that is loosely described as 80's Hard Rock with a bit of a modern twist. Current band members range in age from late 30's to early 50's, and include female lead singer, lead guitar, two rhythm guitars, and drummer. We don't care how old you are, we care about your ability and dedication. If you have basic skills, dedication, and commitment, that is all we are looking for. We all have full time jobs, and do this because we love it, not because we are trying to "make it" or make a lot of money at it. We currently practice once per week on Sunday afternoons in Houston, and are self recording our debut album. We are not looking for the next Geddy Lee, but rather someone that is at least past beginner and moving on to intermediate or better stage, has the passion and drive to learn, and is willing to put in some practice and recording time. We are self recording our first album. The focus from the beginning will be learning the 10 songs on our album, meet for rehearsal once per week, and then being able to record the bass tracks to those songs. We will work covers in to our live shows later down the road. Most songs currently have a version of a bass line in them, but you will have the freedom to listen to those and then put your own spin on them. Once we get the album recorded, we will start playing gigs around the Houston area. We will not be a 2-3 times per week 2-3 week per month type gigging band, so a huge time commitment is not expected. A few hours on Sunday afternoons, and periodic recording times are all that is needed to start off. We have enough material for at least two albums currently.
