Description

LINUX is the free, open source alternative to windows and mac systems. It runs all supercomputers, 95% of web servers, most smart appliances (including self-driving cars), and is even at the heart of your Android phone. LINUX systems rarely get a virus, protect your privacy, and have been constantly improved and field-tested since 1991.The best thing, however, is that it is FREE and most of the software you'll ever need to run on it is FREE as well! So... If you’ve got an old computer (desktop or laptop) that works but has been gathering dust, make it useful again! Convert to LINUX. If you current computer seems sluggish or buggy, maybe it’s your operating system. Try LINUX! (installations can share space with your current OS, or be reversible.) Fed up with software costs, and, essentially, paying big corporations to spy on you? Convert to LINUX! What you’ll need: • A working computer (desktop or laptop) that has a USB port or SD card slot. • A portable drive (USB stick, SD card…) with 2GB or more on it. • $60 (cash) • Transportation (session will be at a restaurant near Pitt & CMU) • Legal ID if you’re over 18 but look like a minor (under 18? Sorry kid, PA Act 153 makes dealing with you a really big hassle.) Can't make the date? Inquire about the next session. Computer too bulky to move? Inquire about an in-home lesson.
