Description
This is Cocoa and she is looking for a home that's best equipped for her needs. She is approximately five years old and she's spayed. I've had her for a little less than a year. I adopted her when I lived in Texas, she was previously used as a backyard breeding dog and had several litters and was removed from her home by an animal safety officer in very poor condition. I've been trying to work with cocoa since I got her on potty training, house manners, gentleness etc, but it has been coming with little to no luck. She is not fully potty trained and likes to poop on carpets rather than outside, she is destructive and likes to rip things up, shes aggressive with my older female dog and has ripped her up pretty good on multiple occasions(she's been around a lot of other dogs and has done fine with them, but not my older girl for some reason), she attacked and severely injured one of my chickens, she chases after and tries to kill any small animal. She climbs on top of everything including tables and counters, gets completely on top of them. She jumps on people, and has scratched up my two little kids pretty bad. On all of this negative stuff that I have said, cocoa is actually a really loving dog. She loves attention and demands all of it, and aside from jumping on people and scratching them, she's super gentle with adults/big kids. She loves rolling over onto her back at your feet and waiting for belly scratches, she just about melts when she gets close to people and just falls over begging for loving. She's a HUGE snuggle bug, and just wants nothing but love and affection. I unfortunately feel like I can't give her as much attention as she deserves as shes been having to live outside and in a stall that extends off of my garage. It's really not what I want for her, but she's destroying the house and attacking my other dog. Cocoa also has a treatable but life threatening health condition that I can discuss through email so I can give you the treatment plan information. Ideally, the best home for cocoa would be a home that doesn't have small animals, other dogs or just no other female dogs, no small children and somebody who has time to train her properly or a better outside living space for her, and somebody who's able to afford her vet expenses. She is an amazing dog, she's just been set up for failure due to how she was previously treated. She just deserves a good life with people who can properly take care of her. I thought I could do it when I adopted her, but I've just been repeatedly unsuccessful at helping to improve her lifestyle. Please email me with questions and if you're interested in adopting this sweet girl. Thank you!!
