Zamora Construction concentrates on providing concrete construction services to a variety of clients including municipalities and private owners. Job Description: C.C. Zamora Construction is looking for an experienced Concrete Truck Driver with Class A or B CDL needed to deliver concrete. Knowledge of City area for deliveries helpful. Safety and Customer Service are our top priorities. You will need a flexible schedule, as your schedule may vary based on business needs. Very good attendance is key to the success of the Company. Everyone is expected to maintain good attendance and punctuality habits. Driving the Concrete Truck is only half of the job. Once we arrive at a customer's jobsite, or even at one of our dump sites and/or Concrete Sites, we provide first-rate customer service and place the materials exactly where the customer wants it. Be aware that inclement weather can interfere with our work volume and schedules. A Safe Driving Record is a must. If you have had your license suspended or revoked for any reason in the past 5 years, we will not employ you as a commercial driver. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. • Daily performs a complete pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls. Document any maintenance that may be required. • Backs truck under loading hopper, starts mixer to receive concrete. Follows guidelines and instructions by dispatch personnel. • Drives truck to designated job site for unloading. Must distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic and throughout plant areas. • Assembles concrete chute and attaches chute to the back of the truck. Controls appropriate levers on truck to discharge concrete according to specifications from the contractor into a wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete. • If appropriate, wash out truck at the job site and replace chute on truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck. • Sprays surfaces of truck with protective compound to prevent adhering of concrete as needed. • Perform minor maintenance to the assigned vehicle--tire pressure, oil change, lube job--as needed. • When the workload is light, assist other areas--repair/maintenance in the yard clean-up and other duties as assigned. • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, city directories, road maps, load tickets, MSDS sheets and memos. Ability to write routine correspondence or documentation. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. • Mathematical Skills • Climbs into and out of truck at customer locations and disposal area(s). • Courteously interacts with customers, dispatcher(s) and supervisors. • Immediately reports any safety or customer service issues of which the employee is made aware to supervisor or manager. • Completes required Vehicle Check List, Weekly Report, and other forms as required (Trucking Tickets etc). • Ensures compliance with DOT and Company hours of service standards. • Performs driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day, including post-trip inspections. • Participates in all required safety training and meetings. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Mandatory Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Valid CDL License (A or B) • Minimum 2 years Concrete Truck Driver and Dump Truck Driver Experience • CLEAN Driving Record • Up to Date DOT Medical Card • Must be able to pass drug test if requested • Self-starter-motivator-hard worker-team attitude. • Good attendance and on time is a must. • Required to perform task that include heavy lifting of 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching. • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
